UniCredit announced that Filippo Pappalardo has been appointed Head of Americas Multinationals, effective immediately, reporting to Giovanni Ronca, Head of Corporate and Investment Banking Americas since 2014.  Mr. Pappalardo will be responsible for coverage of Americas multinationals across corporate and investment banking products including debt capital markets and transaction banking, such as accounts receivable financing, and will lead the expansion of UniCredit’s business with these corporates in the Americas.  Mr. Pappalardo was previously responsible for retail, consumer and health care investment banking for US multinationals and has an extensive background in M&A.  He will continue to be based in New York.

This follows the strengthening of UniCredit’s international network of foreign branches and representative offices, including the branch in New York where new desks have been added focusing on debt capital markets, financial institutions and Latin America.  The renewed focus on the Americas region and debt capital markets origination efforts allowed the team in New York to lead the recent corporate bond transactions of US issuers on the Euro market, including Ford, IBM and McDonald’s where UniCredit acted as active book-runner.

UniCredit’s focus in New York is on clients with significant Euro funding needs or with significant European business activities who need to access its extensive banking network across Western, Central and Eastern Europe.
