Rainbird Launches AI Programme For Businesses To Learn AI SkillsPublished : 6 years ago, on
Laying the foundations for human-down AI development and cultivating the knowledge to ensure the benefit of AI-powered automation technology investment is truly realised
Rainbird, the award-winning AI-powered automated decision-making platform, today launches ‘The Rainbird University Certification Programme’ — a formal three stage AI and knowledge authoring qualification recognised by Mozilla’s Open Badge platform. The Certification Programme will empower experts in the business world to create their own AI-powered automation use cases to streamline best practice decision making.
Rainbird’s automated decision-making platform is unique in that it is modelled on human expertise rather than the elusive data-driven matrixes that underpin machine learning. The platform replicates the human judgement process and is designed to handle uncertainty and ambiguity just like a human subject matter expert would.
The biggest benefit of having an AI platform governed by expert-down human rules is that a company’s subject matter expert can provide clarity on decisions the platform makes. However, as a consequence, rather than relying on traditional software developers, these same customer subject matter experts have a key role to play in programming Rainbird for their company’s chosen use case. The Rainbird Certification Programme is designed to give these subject matter experts the skills and confidence they need to make this transformation into a certified AI creator.
Kevin Harris, IT Director at Taylor Wessing said: “Taylor Wessing has been at the forefront of this transformation since launching our first client tool, using TW: navigate, which combines our leading legal experience with the latest IT and artificial intelligence systems to provide the most advanced and efficient methods of partnering with our clients at all stages of any instruction.
“Through our Tech Set suite of tools, we remain at the forefront of change and innovation, deliver to our clients and attract and retain the best talent through investment in technology. Rainbird has helped us achieve these goals and build on existing skills to become certified AI creators.”
The cornerstone of the company’s customer training initiatives, The Rainbird University Certification Programme is delivered using blended learning that mixes traditional face-to-face training with eLearning via Rainbird’s Learning Management System; The Rainbird University. The programme is designed to build subject matter expert students’ confidence and knowledge of the Rainbird platform, while helping to embed and enrich knowledge of basic artificial intelligence context and knowledge mapping, right through to advanced system architect-level knowledge.
James Duez, Executive Chairman, Rainbird said: “Creating our new Certification Programme has been a significant investment of time and resources but it’s something we see as the cornerstone of our training and something of enormous strategic value to Rainbird and its customers. The more people formally qualified in the foundations and principles of human-down AI development — e.g. the fraud assessors, bankers, financial traders, health care professionals and lawyers etc. whose expertise, knowledge and judgement processes we’re trying to replicate — the more opportunity there is to make automated decision-making use cases smarter and customer experiences smoother. With this training, customers can quickly become self-sufficient and empowered to explore different automation use cases across their business.”
Rainbird’s Certification Program is structured into three stages of learning:
- Foundation Certificate — a pre-requisite for the other certifications, the entry level qualification focuses on giving users a basic knowledge of AI, where Rainbird fits in the wider AI context and the fundamentals of knowledge mapping.
- Professional Certificate — a more advanced and intensive task-driven focus on knowledge mapping techniques.
- Architect Certificate — the pinnacle qualification designed to embed, expand and validate students’ skills. It takes a deep dive into the five core competencies required to be an architect-level knowledge author, focusing on working in collaboration with others to create knowledge maps; develop existing maps; improve basic maps; analyse and problem solve; and question and assess knowledge maps.
