    • New community bank and DRIVE-THRU to open in Luton
    • Grand Opening celebrations to take place on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 October
    • Over 6,000 safe deposit boxes on offer

Metro Bank, the revolution in British banking, is bringing its award-winning banking experience to Luton, with the opening of its 51st store and third drive-thru bank, on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 October. To celebrate the milestone, local residents and businesses are invited to join in two days’ of festivities.

Involving entertainment for the whole family, the celebrations will include everything from dog-shows to stilt walkers, and from music to freebies – and everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

The seven-day-a-week store and drive-thru will provide customers with the ability to bank at their convenience. Customers who prefer to do their banking from the comfort of their car will be able to use the drive-thru facilities for standard cashier services, including paying-in cash and cheques and withdrawing funds.

Commenting on the opening of the new store and drive-thru, the Mayor of Luton, Cllr Mohammad Ayub said: “I am delighted with the arrival of Metro Bank in Luton. The fact that around 25 staff have been recruited locally is another boost to the town and proof that our ambitious £1.5bn Luton Investment Framework is attracting business of all types. As we continue to develop skills and training within our community I am confident others will be able to take advantage of the sort of opportunities organisations such as Metro Bank provide.”

Iain Kirkpatrick, Managing Director Retail Banking at Metro Bank added: “We’re thrilled to be bringing a brand new store to Luton and this time, another one of our drive-thru banks – not something you see other high street banks providing. Whether you’re a parent with a car full of kids, find it difficult getting about or just want to shelter from the weather, our drive-thrus have proved popular with a range of customers.

“For us, it’s all about creating fans, so we really focus on providing a superior banking experience. Our Store Manager Hayley, together with Local Director Hazel and team, are absolutely committed to supporting the Luton community and we’re all really looking forward to getting to know local residents and businesses over the coming weeks and months.”

Unlike others on the high street, Metro Bank is open seven days a week, from early in the morning to late at night, 362 days a year, provides instant account opening, along with on-the-spot card printing, safe deposit boxes for customers’ valuables and free coin counting for customers and non-customers alike.

The new Luton team will be led by Store Manager, Hayley Harrison and Local Director, Hazel Simpson and can be found at 10-20 Castle Street, LU1 3AJ.
