Coupa to transform procurement processes at Emirates Flight Catering

Coupa Software (NASDAQ:COUP), a leader in cloud-based spend management, today announced that Emirates Flight Catering has chosen Coupa Procure-to-Pay (P2P) to obtain greater visibility into its business spend and to streamline procurement processes across its organisation, further building upon Coupa’s presence in the Gulf region.

Operating in a huge growth market and struggling to achieve operational efficiencies with its prior P2P system, Emirates Flight Catering needed a new solution to automate its processes from routine buying to e-invoicing, allowing employees to concentrate on the more strategic and mission critical aspects of its business. After conducting a rigorous examination of solutions available in the market, Emirates Flight Catering selected Coupa’s P2P solution due to the strength and agility of its product and the responsiveness of the Coupa team.

“We spent a great deal of time evaluating solutions in depth as we were looking for the best solution in the market. We’re extremely confident that we have chosen the strongest possible solution,” said Kieran Dowd, vice president of procurement at Emirates Flight Catering. “Not only will Coupa provide us with greater visibility into our current spend, but it will completely transform our procurement practices, increase collaboration with our suppliers and is able to be deployed within a quick time frame which is vital to our business.”

Coupa’s open and collaborative approach with suppliers also was a central factor in Emirates Flight Catering’s decision to choose a P2P solution. Coupa does not charge supplier fees but instead fosters an environment that supports and allows suppliers to be engaged, enabled and integrated with Coupa P2P efficiently.

Born in the cloud, Coupa delivers a modern spend-management platform that accelerates business by unifying processes across all the ways employees spend money. These processes cover travel and expense management, procurement, invoicing, and related source-to-settle areas. Using the CoupaOpen Business Network™, the platform has connected more than three million suppliers and delivers a powerful solution for businesses committed to controlling their spend.

Ravi Thakur, senior vice president of services, customers success and adoption at Coupa, highlighted the strength of Coupa’s brand, and the company’s growing presence in the Gulf region, which factored in making Coupa the winning provider for Emirates Flight Catering.

“Emirates Flight Catering were looking for a comprehensive P2P solution that it could rapidly and strategically implement within its business with minimal disruption to daily operations. With its business growing at an unprecedented rate, Emirates Flight Catering required a robust spend management solution that can easily scale,” Thakur said. “We’re very excited about the prospect of working together with one of the biggest brands in the United Arab Emirates.”

Headquartered in Dubai, Emirates Flight Catering is a subsidiary of The Emirates Group. It provides catering and services for Emirates Airlines and all other airlines based at Dubai International Airport. The company currently provides 180,000 meals daily to over 130 airlines.
