    Midlands’ based brand agency, Champions (UK) plc, who are enjoying a period of rapid growth, are thrilled to announce that their sales team are now Google Certified.

    This certification comes as recognition of Champions’ commitment to broadening and developing their employees’ skills and means the search engine giants, Google, now recognises the Champions’ sales team as experts in selling digital marketing services.

    All members of the account management and sales team engaged in Google’s Digital Marketing Course, where their knowledge and understanding was tested on Pay Per Click advertising (PPC), Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), the customer journey, and the Google display network.

    Champions pride themselves on taking the mystique out of digital advertising making it clear and simple for the customer through ensuring the team have a full understanding of how Google operate and how businesses can maximise their spend.

    The sales team also benefited from the arrival of David Simms, former Regional Managing Director, Trinity Mirror East Midlands.

    In September last year Champions brought David on board to head up the commercial operation. In just eight months David has transformed the sales team and this official certification is just one of the examples of how David has positively impacted the team.

    Speaking about his team’s recent Google Certification, David said:

    “A team that is Google Certified is a team that is a cut above the rest. With accreditation comes great prestige and it means that we are now more widely recognised by Google as experts in our field.” This means we can offer clients the very best advice that meets the needs of their business.

    He continued by speaking about his ambitions for the team:

    “When I joined Champions I had a clear vision of where I saw the department going and I am thrilled that the team are responding positively to ideas and initiatives. Our sales skills, team and knowledge are stronger than ever and I look forward to putting this certification into action.”

    The Champions sales team are responsible for selling a wide range of the agency’s services, which include creative, digital, marketing, PR, media, events, publishing, advertising, celebrity and web. They also secure sponsorship for the 12 regional business and sports awards Champions organises each year as well as the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship and Farmfoods European Senior Masters.
