Sayduck Wins Eccomplished Retail Innovation Award

We are delighted to announce that Finland-based augmented reality innovator Sayduck have been awarded the inaugural Eccomplished Retail Innovation Award.

Retail Technology Showcase at RBTE 2014

Sayduck were one of twenty-seven retail technology innovators selected to present at the Retail Innovation Theatre at RBTE 2014earlier this month, with CEO Mikko Martikainen demonstrating how Sayduck helps retailers bring products to life for customers from the comfort of their own homes.

According to a 2011 study by eMarketer, the primary reason why online shoppers research a product online, but then buy in-store is because they want to see an article before buying it. Sayduck’s own 2013 consumer survey revealed that only 50% of customers would be ready to buy a product without seeing the product first.

Addressing Online Shopping Challenges

Sayduck addresses this challenge directly, allowing customers to examine products closely in 3D via a mobile device before buying online, drastically improving abandoned basket rates and increasing basket value by up to 27%.

Success in the Furniture Retail Sector

It has resonated particularly well with furniture retailers such as Made.com, who use Sayduck’s technology within their mobile app to allow customers to position 3D versions of large furniture items around their home to envisage how it looks prior to making a purchase decision.

Award Selection Criteria and Recognition

The Retail Innovation Award selection was made by the Eccomplished leadership team, representatives from the RBTE steering committee and also took into account audience ratings from the Innovation Theatre, collated using Feefo’s Store Review technology.

“We are delighted for Mikko and the team at Sayduck. They have a great piece of technology that is getting good traction in the market. They appeared on the shortlists of each member of the judging panel and also received one of the highest rated scores from the Retail Innovation Theatre audience at RBTE 2014.” said Eccomplished Director, Matt James.

“We are very excited to have won the Retail Innovation Award. It gives further validation that there is a clear need for a technology like Sayduck’s and that our vision of the future resonates with a wider audience. We believe this year is going to be the year of Augmented Reality and we cannot wait to present again at the Retail Innovation Theatre next year to tell everyone about some of the great advances we have in the pipeline.” said Sayduck CEO Mikko Martikainen.
