Public sector bill payment services provider, allpay has chosen Eckoh to secure customer payments made over the telephone. In addition, allpay and Eckoh have entered into a partnership that will resell CallGuard to allpay’s clients.

allpay provides bill payment services, primarily to the public sector and handles £6 billion a year across 60 million transactions.

allpay will implement Eckoh’sCallGuard, which prevents payment card details from being seen or heard by contact centre agents when customers make payments over the phone. Customers enter the details using their telephone keypad, and Eckoh stops any of the card data entering the IT environment of the organisation.

Adding CallGuard within their contact centre enables allpay to remain compliant with PCI DSS as well as continuing to keep the opportunity of fraud to a minimum and to maintain a reassuring process for their customers.

Nick Peplow, bill payments director at allpay said: “We wanted a secure payment method that would adequately protect our customer’s card data when they paid over the phone. We chose Eckoh because of its credentials and references. We have been extremely impressed with the robustness of CallGuard, and the speed of implementation. It’s ticked all the boxes for us, and for our PCI DSS requirement.”

In addition, allpay will be partnering with Eckoh to provide the benefits of CallGuard to its own customer base.

Peplow said: “We went through a due diligence process for a strategic partner. Eckoh was the only business to use its own technology in-house within its own contact centre to process payments on behalf of its clients. This was a clear differentiator for us and we believe CallGuard will be a great answer to many of our clients PCI challenges. We’re extremely excited to share Eckoh’s technology and expect a very positive response.”

Nik Philpot, Chief Executive Officer of Eckoh commented: “Not only are we delighted to have allpay on board as a new client, but we are extending our relationship to include a reseller agreement for CallGuard. Payment security is becoming an increasing hot topic within Housing Associations and Local Authorities and together our companies can provide the technology and security that Eckoh clients have come to rely on and trust.”
