Bird flu, also known as avian influenza, is a viral infection that primarily affects birds but can infect humans and other animals. It can cause severe respiratory illness and is often fatal in birds.
A protection zone is an area established around an infected site to prevent the spread of disease. In the case of bird flu, it involves culling infected poultry and monitoring surrounding areas.
A surveillance zone is a designated area where monitoring and testing for disease are intensified. This helps in early detection and control of potential outbreaks.
