Jon Stratford joins company to enable finance and operations to support continued global growth

Smart Communications, a Leader in Gartner’s 2017 Magic Quadrant for customer communications management software, has today announced the appointment of Jon Stratford as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Leading the financial and operational functions of the company, Jon will help drive the Smart Communications growth strategy and support all strategic and operational initiatives across the global business.  A qualified chartered accountant, Jon brings over 20 years of experience leading the financial, commercial and business operations of growth-oriented, global businesses.

Prior to joining Smart Communications, Jon spent ten years at Xchanging plc, serving most recently as Executive Board Director with responsibility for Xchanging’s Financial Services business. Jon also was responsible for the group’s key strategic initiatives and commercial negotiations, and for leading all acquisition activities.  During his time at Xchanging, Jon also served as Executive Director of Xchanging’s Insurance business and as Chief Financial and Commercial Officer for the USA, based in Chicago.  He was responsible for leading Xchanging’s IPO and entry into the FTSE 250.

Prior to Xchanging, Jon spent 13 years at KPMG including 10 years in the Private Equity Corporate Finance Group as a Director, advising leading institutions and management teams on acquisitions, investments, financing and exits.

George Wright, CEO of Smart Communications, said: “Jon brings to Smart Communications a portfolio of global and strategic experience that’s especially relevant to our business today and into the future.  After years of being a disruptive leader in the space, coupled with our recent launch as an independent company backed by Accel-KKR, Smart Communications is poised for unprecedented growth. Jon’s partnership and business acumen will prove instrumental as we chart a new path forward.”

Added Stratford: “I am really excited to be joining the Smart Communications management team as the company continues scaling for growth. I’m proud to be joining a company with a technology that’s outpacing the competition, a solution that’s wholly focused on enabling better conversations and an approach that enables enterprise customers to solve their customer communication problem themselves.”
