Winston & Strawn LLP announced today that Shibeer Ahmed has joined the firm as partner and head of banking and Islamic finance in Dubai. Mr. Ahmed was previously with White & Case, where he served as head of the firm’s GCC Conventional and Islamic Bank Finance Practice.

Over the last decade, Mr. Ahmed has advised clients on financing transactions in Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, Russia and the CIS, South East Asia, and Africa. He guides clients through highly complex financings, with a particular focus on project finance and Islamic and conventional banking. Mr. Ahmed has advised a range of financial institutions, including commercial banks, export credit agencies, and development finance institutions, on complex multi-sourced project and Islamic financings. He also advises on corporate and sovereign Sukuk issues.
