GenerationS corporate accelerator for technology start-ups created by RVC has become the first Russian accelerator approved by the Global Accelerator Network (GAN) for membership.

Global Accelerator Network is the independent global association combining the largest accelerators from all over the world.

GAN was created by Techstars in 2011 in partnership with the national technology start-ups development program of the USA “Startup America Partnership”.

At the present time, more than 90 accelerators from over 30 countries participate in the network and Russia has joined them now. GAN community also includes about 10 thousand start-ups, 85% of which became successful following the results of acceleration programs. Among GAN corporate partners are Amazon, Cisco, American Airlines, IBM, Land Rover, Microsoft, Michelin, Mastercard, Universal Music Group and others.

Cooperation with the GAN offers great opportunities for its participants. GenerationS will have access to the best global acceleration practices and the possibility of global scouting of technology start-ups and help Russian developers to enter new markets.

“Participation of GenerationS in GAN means recognition of Russian accelerators by the international community. This association includes accelerators from the countries with rapidly growing economies – USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, European countries, in cooperation with which we will be able to attract foreign investment in Russia and show foreign developments to Russian corporations,” ― said Ekaterina Petrova, the director of GenerationS corporate accelerator.

As of 2018, the total amount of investments in GenerationS’ graduates was equal to $38 million. The accelerator partner network includes over 400 corporations, universities and technoparks. Since the launch of accelerator in 2013, 14,635 start-ups from 30 countries applied for participation, and 70% of graduates are profitable.

In order to improve an international status of the project, GenerationS systematically builds up partnership with global corporations, state agencies, infrastructure facilities, and venture capital funds. In 2018, international corporations Michelin and Airbus have become the partners of GenerationS. Among events where startup finalists are annually presented are Innovation and Technology week in Singapore (SWITCH), SLUSH, Hannover Messe, Germany Startup Tour, VIVA Technology. Finalists also take part in practical internships to study innovative infrastructures of Silicon Valley, Germany and France.
