ESCP Europe’s London School and Campus has been shortlisted for the prestigious UK Business School of the Year 2017 award at the 13th annual Times Higher Education (THE) awards ceremony in November this year.

Referred to as the ‘Oscars of the higher education sector’, the THE Awards recognise the innovation, talent and dedication of British business schools and their parent universities. In the main Business School category, the judges were looking for business schools that demonstrated exceptional performance and initiative in areas including innovation, research, student experience, teaching, corporate and alumni engagement.

2016 saw many achievements for ESCP Europe. The school rose up to 11th in the Financial Times’ European Business School rankings with its Master in Management programme ranked in 4th position globally and its Master in Finance reaching 2nd position. Both of these programmes are taught significantly on the London Campus where the School has launched a pioneering Bachelor in Management requiring students to study at three ESCP Europe campuses in three languages over three years.

2016 also saw ESCP Europe’s inaugural European Electrical Vehicle Road Tour – with students traveling thousands of kilometres in electrical vehicles to promote e-mobility and sustainability research – and high profile events linked to Brexit and international security crises.

Simon Mercado, Director of ESCP Europe (London), says:

“At a transformative and disruptive time globally, ESCP Europe continues to connect and shape management and leadership by advancing cross-cultural business knowledge and practice. The London School is committed to this uniting mission. From energy management through to the industry 4.0 agenda, we are making a strategic and academic response to the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow both as a European institution in the heart of the UK and as a British school at the heart of Europe. This nomination reflects the outstanding commitment of our staff and students and the international character of our work, programmes and culture.”

Frank Bournois, Dean of ESCP Europe, remarks:

“This outstanding achievement shows the relevance of our multi-campus strategy. To be a truly pan-European business school, we must be recognised as a leading institution in each country where our campuses operate and only ESCP Europe can do this! I am very proud that the THE considers ESCP Europe a top UK Business School.”

John Gill, Editor of Times Higher Education, adds:

“Once again, these awards have attracted hundreds of entries from the length and breadth of the nation, and from institutions of every hue. All those shortlisted can be immensely proud to have made it through this first phase, and we at Times Higher Education look forward to honouring the winners for their talent, creativity and commitment at a time for the academy when these qualities are increasingly essential.”
