Duff & Phelps, the premier global valuation and corporate finance advisor with a specialist risk consultancy practice, today announced that two new members have joined its UK Compliance and Regulatory Consulting (CRC). Derek Taylor and Fergus Allan have both been appointed as Managing Directors in Duff & Phelps’ London consulting team.

Derek Taylor – Managing Director (London)

With over twenty years’ experience in banking and capital markets, Derek is a risk management and compliance and regulatory change specialist. He has previously worked as a partner at Grant Thornton UK LLP, head of Risk Management and Compliance IT practices at EY, Capco and M.A. Partners, and in various roles with investment banks such as Citi, RBS and Investec. Derek comes with a proven record of people management, operational insight and business development expertise.

Fergus Allan – Managing Director (London)

Fergus joins Duff & Phelps from PwC where for over 4 years he helped clients overcome complex organisational, compliance and operational challenges.  He has worked for over 20 years in financial services, as a regulator at the Financial Services Authority, in industry in senior compliance and operations roles and with several other established consultancies, including KPMG.  Fergus’ broad and proven skills in compliance, risk, operations and change, means he has consistently supported clients in making brave, sound decisions about how to operate their business more effectively, how to control their business in smart ways and how to effectively change their business.

Commenting on the appointments, Monique Melis, Managing Director and Head of Regulatory Consulting at Duff & Phelps, says:

“We are thrilled to be welcoming these high-performing professionals to Duff & Phelps’ CRC team. We have been looking to expand this area of our business for some time, and we are confident that Derek and Fergus bring the precise skills and qualities needed to achieve this.

“The current climate makes their appointments even more timely. The UK is still subject to complex European regulations, and remains so now Article 50 has been triggered. In this ever-changing environment, companies need to ensure that they are abiding by existing legislation whilst efficiently responding to any changes. With their long and impressive backgrounds in compliance and regulation, the new appointments are well-positioned to bring this security to both our clients and to Duff & Phelps itself.”
