Coupa Software (NASDAQ:COUP), a leader in cloud-based spend management, announced that it has hired Marten Jagers to lead the company’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Jagers has more than 20 years of experience helping build businesses across APAC for leading multi-national companies.  Most recently, Jagers worked 14 years at Concur, which included responsibility for launching and building the organisation’s infrastructure – sales, marketing, business development, solutions consulting and client services – across key APAC markets.

At Coupa, Jagers will be responsible for leading Coupa’s expansion across APAC by leading and expanding the Coupa team in both established and new markets, delivering a value-based customer experience that expands and executes upon Coupa’s global leading partnership model.

“What excited me about this role is Coupa’s global leading position in spend management and also the opportunity to introduce the company’s innovative services to Asia-Pacific organisations,” Jagers said, “Coupa’s technology offers a unique opportunity for local companies to accelerate their business goals by leveraging next-generation spend management technology. What also grabbed me was the high calibre of individuals that make Coupa a great place to work and grow.”

Jagers joined Coupa from Concur – a cloud travel and expense platform company – where his roles ranged from managing director in Australia and Korea to vice president in Greater China, Japan, India and South East Asia. Earlier in his career, Jagers formed part of the founding team that launched commercial and purchasing payment solutions as National Manager of Commercial Card Group for Australia and New Zealand’s Banking Corporation.

“I am confident that Marten’s going to be a great addition to our leadership team,” said Steve Winter, chief revenue officer of Coupa. “We are thrilled to have someone with Marten’s calibre of expertise and experience join the team to help ensure that our regional APAC customers derive the same value from our platform as all of our customers worldwide.”
