    He’s a famed fashion designer with his own label, a collection in Debenhams and a plethora of celebrity fans to his name. And now Henry Holland is set to work with Visa Europe Collab to combine fashion, wearables and payments for the first time.

    The worlds of fashion and tech have never been closer, and as mobile payments continue to build market momentum, designers will be looking ahead to their SS16 collections to showcase new innovations. That’s why the British designer is today unveiling exciting plans for his September runway show, as part of London Fashion Week, at the Decoded Fashion Summit in Tokyo.

    Henry has announced today that he will be working closely with the team here at Visa Europe Collab to reveal a new type of integration in the fashion and technology space, incorporating payment into design in a unique way and showcasing the potential interaction from the catwalk to everyday shopping experience.

    He is working with us on an exciting new proof of concept, as part of our unique 100 day innovation sprint process which brings great ideas to life. He will follow in the footsteps of previous Visa Europe Collab prototypes – such as the contactless giving tin – and work with a hand-picked team of craftspeople, artisans and technology providers to use NFC and Bluetooth Smart technologies in his Spring Summer 2016 collection showcase at LFW in September.

    Henry Holland says: “You have this huge world stage and people are going to be watching not just the clothes we are presenting but the consumer experience we are creating. That’s the aim here: we’re combining a unique consumer experience with a catwalk presentation.”

    “I for one am really excited about how this project will combine Henry’s irreverent style with our payments expertise to create something truly cutting edge. At Visa Europe Collab we’re always looking at how we can explore new ways to seamlessly integrate payments into consumers’ daily lives – something that our work with Henry is looking to achieve” says Steve Perry, Founder and Co-creator.
