Funder bolsters teams to drive regional support for SMEs

Business funder, Bibby Financial Services (BFS), has today announced four new appointments across Scotland and the North of England, enabling the business to better serve the funding needs of SMEs in the areas.

Wayne Spratt re-joins BFS as Business Development Manager in Yorkshire following sales and operational roles at Aldermore Bank Plc and RBS Invoice Finance. Wayne has 15 years’ experience in the invoice finance industry and first joined BFS in 2002.

Casey Baldwin also joins BFS Yorkshire as Business Development Executive. Prior to joining, Casey was Assistant Relationship Manager at both Aldermore Bank Plc and RBS Invoice Finance.

Lee McDonnell has been appointed as Business Development Executive for BFS Manchester having previously worked as Credit Controller.

In Scotland, Ronan Patrick Fallon has been appointed as a Sales Executive. Ronan previously worked as a Risk and Recoveries Administrator in BFS’s Manchester office.

Speaking of the new appointments, Stephen Johnson, Regional Sales Director – North at Bibby Financial Services, said:

“We’ve seen considerable growth in the North of England and Scotland over the past year as more businesses look to access funding they need to grow. Expanding our team in Scotland and key areas in the North of England such as Manchester, Leeds and Bradford will undoubtedly enable us to further grow our support for local businesses and the intermediary community.”

BFS is the UK’s largest independent invoice finance provider, supporting more than 7,500 businesses through its 19 local offices. In addition to invoice finance, BFS provides asset, trade and export finance solutions. In 2016 it launched Bibby Foreign Exchange, an integrated currency exchange service to support businesses trading internationally.

Stephen added:“In recent years, we have grown significantly both in relation to the number of businesses we support, and the products and services we provide to SMEs of all sizes.

“Last year we wrote one in six of all invoice finance deals in the country and advanced more than £3.1bn to UK businesses helping them to grow.

“Our people are at the heart of everything we do and in order to achieve our ambitious growth strategy, we need to continue to attract new talent, in addition to retaining our home-grown expertise. I’m delighted to welcome our new joiners and I’m confident that they will make a significant contribution to our UK growth strategy over the years to come.”
