Bury FC season tickets join cashless card with new tappit deal

Cashless experience expert, tappit, will extend its shirt sponsorship with Bury Football Club for a further three years in a deal that will also see Bury’s season tickets added to tappit’s cashless payment card. This will enable quick and secure entry into the ground, while pre-loaded funds will enable faster transactions for cardholders in the club shop and food and beverage outlets.

tappit is the club’s sole shirt sponsor, featuring on both the new home and away shirts, which will be unveiled by the club over the summer. The Cemetery End Stand will also become ‘the tappit stand’ from the start of next season.

Matt Hanson, Business Development Director at Bury FC, said: “tappit is much more than a shirt sponsor for us and we’re thrilled to have their support for a further three seasons. As well as shirt and stand sponsorship, tappit has been fully supportive of a number of our partner charities and is also sponsoring our Under 23s next season, helping us build a pathway to the first team for our young players.

“We want to do all we can to keep our supporters engaged and provide the best possible visitor experience to fans. Season tickets will now grant access to holders via tappit’s cashless card, which also enables them to spend around the stadium. We’ll also work together to provide a range of select discounts for cardholders over the course of the season.”

Jason Thomas, CEO of tappit, explained: “We’re fully behind Bury in their push for promotion next season and proud to continue our journey in making the Energy Check Stadium at Gigg Lane a fully cashless stadium. When I go to a game I get incredibly frustrated if I miss any of the action queuing for my pie and pint or waiting at the turnstiles.

“tappit payments are quicker than even a contactless bank card, so we hope fans don’t miss a second and can enjoy all the action on the pitch. We’re also happy to help reward fans for their continued loyalty by working with local partners and community outlets to offer discounts to cashless card holders.”

Fans already benefit from the cashless experiences at a number of German Bundesliga clubs and at international Rugby 7s events, making payments as convenient as possible and allowing clubs to continually refine and improve the visitor experience.
