KAINOS DEPLOYS WORKDAY HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT AT TRAVELEX
– Travelex Moves to the Cloud to Gain Greater Visibility into its HR Operations
Digital solutions company Kainos, a Workday services partner announced that Travelex, the world’s largest foreign exchange specialist, has deployed Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) at all of its operations around the world. Workday (NYSE: WDAY) is a leading provider of enterprise cloud applications for human resources and finance.
Workday HCM is a single system-of-record, delivered in the cloud that enables organisations to make faster decisions, gain operational visibility, prepare for future talent shifts and build effective teams. With Workday, Travelex has achieved large-scale efficiencies by streamlining processes, automating workflows, increasing visibility, and reducing administrative tasks. More strategically, these results will empower HR teams to focus on talent management, performance management and workforce optimisation, using the application’s embedded analytics capabilities that are available to smartphone, tablet, and desktop users.
Extending on Workday’s own deployment tools and methodology, Kainos provided extensive implementation, systems integration and data migration services as part of the Workday deployment, which now supports self-service use by more than 8,000 employees and line managers across three global regions (encompassing the Middle East, India and Asia Pacific, the UK/Europe and North America). Kainos also provided automated testing using Kainos Smart™, a powerful cloud-based testing tool, which helps accelerate Workday deployments.
Kainos, which began working on the project in early 2013, faced tight timelines to meet Travelex’s ambitious targets. The most recent phase involved the deployment of Workday across nine countries in just four months. All of the core system’s functionality is now live across 23 countries.
Gareth Williams, Global HR Director at Travelex, is highly positive about the impact that Workday will have on Travelex. He said: “Kainos has strong credentials in Workday deployments and automated testing. The team members showed commitment and skill at every stage of the project. Using Kainos has given us the confidence to extend our use of Workday across our workforce.”

Caroline Worsley, Project Lead at Kainos, said: “This is a hugely exciting project. Workday is a product leader with a very powerful, intuitive and user-friendly platform. Our considerable experience with Workday and our flexibility and adaptability have been key. We planned for contingencies and were able to respond quickly to in-flight business changes during the project. We also followed Workday deployment principles while adding our own ‘out of the box’ thinking to meet the tight deadlines.”
Caroline added, “The Kainos team is very proud to have worked on a project that has made such an important impact to Travelex. The ethos of both partners has been collaborative throughout and together we have overcome hurdles to make the project an outstanding success.”
