What is IFSC Code?

IFSC code is called as Indian Financial System Code and is a unique eleven digit alphanumeric code for each branch of bank and wherein the first four digits represents “Name of Bank” and rest all characters represents branch and branch number. It acts as a secondary source of transaction in case one does not know address of a branch and wants to transfer money.
