S&A TAX SEMINAR: CYPRUS AND POLISH TAX DEVELOPMENTS
Savva & Associates successfully delivered a high-level tax seminar on “Cyprus and Polish Tax Developments”, on January 22nd 2014, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Warsaw, Poland.
Co-organizer of this three-hour business seminar was Piraeus Bank Cyprus.
The panel of speakers included Charles Savva, Managing Director of Savva & Associates, who covered topics ranging from the Cypriot regulatory framework, tax environment and domestic tax changes, to current and future trends in Cypriot taxation. His partner Stella C. Koukounis, Head of Corporate at SK Law Group, gave an introduction to the Cyprus legal system with a focus on the International Trusts regime.
Additional speakers included Michalis Michael, Manager of Nicosia IBU at Piraeus Bank, Marios Demetriades, Head of Fund Management at Piraeus Bank, and Szymon Murawski, Head of Tax at Garrigues law firm in Warsaw.
This business event gathered over 80 participants, including leading local legal, audit and accounting firms as well as Polish key industry players.
The seminar was followed by a networking cocktail, where all participants had the opportunity to speak individually with the panel speakers and with other participants.
On Thursday, January 23rd, while in Warsaw, Mr. Savva and Ms. Koukounis were invited by a leading Polish firm to present and participate in a panel of speakers during a business conference on “Tax Optimization: Future Foreign Investment Structures”, which took place at the Bristol Hotel . The event attracted over 70 participants interested in the professional services and tax optimization solutions offered in Cyprus and Poland.
