Morton Salt today announced a three-year partnership with the James Beard Foundation (JBF) to elevate its efforts to educate, inspire and create opportunities to reduce food waste.
The first course serves up free access to Creating a Full-Use Kitchen, a new online food waste curriculum designed for culinary school instructors to train students to understand, address and advocate solutions to reduce food waste. The free curriculum also provides guidance on how to reduce cost, improve nutrition and enhance overall sustainability practices.
The next generation of chefs and culinary professionals will have a remarkable influence on food culture, said Denise Lauer, Chief Marketing Officer, Morton Salt, Inc. They will impact how we cook, how we eat and how we celebrate food “ especially on social media. Thats why we wanted to team up with JBF to provide this new curriculum to the culinary community and support those who, like us, are passionate, motivated and inspired to erase food waste.
In addition to the Creating a Full-Use Kitchen curriculum, the Morton Salt-JBF partnership will include digital content and live events to educate consumers, instructors and the next generation of chefs about the issue of food waste and what they can do to prevent it in their own kitchens.
Were excited Morton Salt came to the table to help make this curriculum available for not only culinary professionals, but also for anyone who wants to challenge themselves to join the movement to reduce food waste, said Clare Reichenbach, Chief Executive Officer, James Beard Foundation. As part of our Waste Not campaign, well continue to find bold, creative and exciting ways to raise awareness and drive change with Morton Salt.
