Montreal’s Data Platform Adopted by The University of Southern Mississippi College of Business and Economic Development

Montreals announced today that its unique data analytics platform will be integrated into the curriculum of the University of Southern Mississippis College of Business and Economic Development. The Hattiesburg-based university will be the first post-secondary institution to integrate the advanced AI-enabled economic data analytics platform into its economics and business programs. Both graduate and undergraduate students will have access to the platform that mines and curates data collected from millions of business establishments and uses trained algorithms to forecast growth.

Gazelle.ais president, Steven Jast has worked for more than 20 years in the field of investment attraction; brokering relationships between growing companies and the communities seeking to attract them. Jast and his team began work on the tool in late 2015 hoping to leverage the capabilities of Big Data and artificial intelligence to support investment prospecting. Together with a team of economists, mathematicians and developers, Jast created a tool that supports economic development professionals to interpret vast amounts of industry data and predict companies that are poised for growth.
