Firm set to complete further US acquisition by end of 2025

London, UK, June, 2025 - Paynt, a global payment technology leader, has strategically acquired E-xact Transactions, a prominent Canadian provider of electronic payment and financial processing services. This acquisition significantly bolsters Paynt's expansion into the North American market. Building on its annual processing volume of £4 billion across 10,000 merchants in the EEA and UK, Paynt aims to solidify its position as a leading global payment infrastructure provider.

Founded over 25 years ago, E-xact Transactions delivers lightning-fast, secure payment processing and supports leading e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, and WooCommerce. They have an impressive annual processing volume of CAD 3.5 billion and 50 million transactions.

Founded in 2014, Paynt operates from its offices in the UK, the Baltic States, and recently expanded into Ireland and the United States. Known for innovative and value-driven payment solutions, including a market-leading cashless tipping platform, Paynt has established itself as the leading payment provider for the hospitality and service sectors in these markets.

“This acquisition will enable Paynt not only to deliver high-performance solutions but also to expand our operations by offering omnichannel payment processing services throughout Canada,” said Sam Kohli, founder and board member of Paynt. "With an established presence in Connecticut and a new office in Vancouver, we are entering the next stage of growth in the North American market, expanding the frontiers of our innovation and reinforcing Paynt’s position as a global leader in payment solutions, building on its established leadership in markets such as the UK.”

This acquisition perfectly complements Paynt’s existing payment solutions, setting the stage for aggressive North American expansion and potential for exponential growth through offering integrated, scalable payment solutions across the continent. To support this integration with E-xact and North American growth plans, Paynt has appointed payments industry veteran JohnPaul Golino to its board of directors. Golino will lead the integration of E-xact into Paynt’s platform, create synergies with both teams and oversee regional go-to-market efforts.

Paynt is also considering further acquisitions in the United States, aiming to complete another by the end of 2025 to drive additional expansion across the Atlantic.

In 2023, Paynt focused on expanding its payments services portfolio by focusing on value-added payment products. In 2025, Paynt's innovative solutions received international recognition with the MPE Award in Berlin for Payment Innovation, being shortlisted alongside industry leaders like Mastercard.
