INSTITUTE RECOGNISED AS A LEADING ASSESSOR OF APPRENTICESHIPS

The Chartered Banker Institute is delighted to announce that it has been accepted as an Apprenticeship Assessment Organisation (AAO) to carry out the End Point Assessment (EPA) for the Level 2 Financial Service Customer Adviser Standard, and the Level 3 Senior Financial Service Customer Adviser Standard, as part of the ‘trailblazers’ apprenticeship learning programme1.

The Chartered Banker Institute will be working alongside employers and training providers to develop the EPA, which will involve the completion of a portfolio which details the knowledge, skills &behaviours to carry out their role.

We believe that the professional interview element of the EPA will also allow a new recruit to the banking industry to prove they meet the necessary standards and play a positive role in ensuring these standards are met.

Simon Thompson, Chief Executive of the Chartered Banker Institute commented:

“”This is great news for individuals, employers and bank customers that the Institute is now one of a relatively small and select group of professional bodies to be granted End Point Assessment (EPA) status for apprenticeships. The Institute has a long and proud history of being the standard-setting, accrediting and awarding body for the banking industry and in recent years we have done a great deal to raise high levels of professionalism in the sector. This new development means that we will now also be assessing the standards for apprenticeships and evaluating individuals against these high levels of achievement, which will ultimately lead to a re-established and re-vitalised banking profession that customers can have confidence and trust in.”
