NFT Vision Hack aims to support creatives and developers who are pushing  boundaries within the global NFT space

17 August 2021: An online hackathon focused on non-fungible tokens (NFTs) is offering more than $70,000 worth of prizes and grants to participants including software engineers, graphic designers, NFT creators, game developers and digital artists. The free to enter NFT Vision Hack, which will close for submissions on 30th August, is organised by Indorse, Nifty Labs Gibraltar and Coinsilium.

The use of NFTs has exploded in the past year, with the The market for non-fungible tokens “surged to new highs in the second quarter, with $2.5 billion in sales so far this year, up from just $13.7 million in the first half of 2020”.1 Tweets, NBA highlight videos and digital art are among the NFTs being sold for six and seven figure sums. Capitalising on this groundswell of interest, the hackathon aim to push the boundaries of what is considered possible in the world of NFTs, with entrants choosing between four tracks: building on the open source Rarible Protocol, focusing on NFT payment solutions, creating a scalable NFT art project, or developing innovative solutions that combine gaming and NFTs.

In addition to the monetary rewards, the best projects will also have the opportunity to partner, and secure grant programs, with some of the sponsors, which include Rarible, IPFS, Filecoin, Circle, and HM Government of Gibraltar amongst others. Sponsors have also conducted a series of workshops to provide context and knowledge specific to each challenge.

“The NFT Vision Hack 2021 is a wonderful opportunity for industry-leading developers and artists to collaborate, share expertise and find innovative solutions using NFT technologies. Events such as these pave the way for the future of the industry, its uses and applications. As the first jurisdiction to introduce legislation around Distributed Ledger Technology, HM Government of Gibraltar is a proud sponsor of the NFT Vision Hack. We look forward to seeing exciting new solutions as global interest in NFTs continues”, stated The Hon Albert Isola MP, Minister for Digital and Financial Services, HM Government of Gibraltar.

“The explosion of NFTs is a valuable trend for marketplaces and creators, and we’re excited that USDC is helping power tokenization on the blockchain. We’re also proud to sponsor NFT Vision Hack because we know it’ll help generate ideas that will fuel adoption of NFTs, the creator economy, and broader crypto commerce.” – Rachel Mayer, Circle’s VP of Product

Gaurang Torvekar, CEO and Co-Founder of Indorse, concluded, “We are incredibly delighted to see several teams diligently developing innovative solutions in the NFT space, right from combining NFTs with Defi to AI for the NFT Vision Hack. This hackathon brings together artists and developers who are the pillars of the NFT community, forever reshaping how art is created and sold.”

NFT Vision Hack will run until 30th August. Creatives and software engineers can register on the official website: www.nftvisionhack.com.
