Healthgrades Announces America’s Best Hospitals™

Healthgrades, the leading online resource for information about physicians and hospitals, today released Americas Best Hospitals„¢ for 2019. The recipients of the Americas 50, 100 and 250 Best Hospitals Awards„¢ which represent the top 1, 2 and 5 percent of hospitals in the nation, respectively demonstrate superior clinical outcomes across the majority of common inpatient conditions and procedures.

This marks the first year that Healthgrades has released one consolidated list “ Americas Best Hospitals. Previously, the company released two awards: the Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence (DHACE), which represented the top 250 hospitals in the country, and Americas 50 and 100 Best Hospitals. With the combined Americas Best Hospitals achievement, consumers have access to a more comprehensive view of hospital quality across the U.S., so they can more easily find the highest-quality hospitals for their needs.

Healthgrades congratulates recipients of the Americas 50, 100 and 250 Best Hospitals Awards„¢, said Brad Bowman, Chief Medical Officer at Healthgrades. Consumers have many options for care, so when hospitals prove their long-term commitment to the patient and to achieving high-quality clinical outcomes, it sets their system apart in a sea of choices.

We are honored to be recognized among Americas Best Hospitals by Healthgrades, said Orange Regional Medical Centers President & CEO Scott Batulis. At Orange Regional, we put patient safety first. We are committed to operational excellence, which includes clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, employee engagement and financial health. Patients treated in hospitals named as Americas Best Hospitals„¢ have, on average, a 27.1 percent lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive this award. Peninsula Regionals greatest asset is our team of employees, providers, nurses, and volunteers, said Steve Leonard, MBA, FACHE, President/CEO, Peninsula Regional Health System, Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Its a simple philosophy: Achieving a designation as one of Americas 250 Best Hospitals can only happen when a team is dedicated and devoted to a multidisciplinary approach involving both clinical and non-clinical partners focused on constantly improving processes and embracing change to enhance exceptional care, quality and safety throughout the health system.
