As National Breast Cancer Awareness Month starts across the country, Freedom Trucks, LLC is going pink in a big way. The companys newest semi-truck, a 2015 Peterbilt, is bright pink with purple ribbons symbolizing hope for women and their families who experience breast cancer. The cause is near and dear to the companys owners who have had personal experience with the disease. Freedom Trucks wants to raise awareness across the Gulf Coast. The semi-truck has been seen at Cruisin The Coast events and also participated in DIberville Elementary Schools parade last Friday.
The semi-truck is getting a lot of attention. Mark Hawkins, Service Manager and designated company driver of the truck, said, Everywhere we go the crowd is reacting in a positive way. Kids love climbing in the truck and getting to see what its like inside. It means a lot to me to get to drive around and bring attention to a cause that affects so many people.
Freedom Trucks, LLC is a new company to the Gulf Coast and comprises both a truck dealership as well as a rental fleet for independent owner operators. The owners recently purchased American Truck Group out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Taking part in community events is just one way the new owners hope to serve the Gulf Coast.
The big pink truck can be seen at the Biloxi Town Green on Saturday, October 20 at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. The public is invited to see, touch, and take a photo of the truck at the walk.
