Domtar Corporation Employees Donate Books and Read to Fort Mill Kindergartners at Local Elementary School

Domtar Corporation (NYSE: UFS) (TSX: UFS) announced that employee volunteers from the companys Corporate Office in Fort Mill, S.C. visited the local Riverview Elementary School to read to kindergartners and to commemorate the companys donation of more than 230 books to the school.

Domtar makes a wide variety of everyday products from sustainable wood fiber, and it is one of the worlds largest producers of a complete line of absorbent hygiene solutions, as well as an innovator in absorbent technology. Domtars U.S. Corporate Office in Fort Mill and its Rock Hill Converting Center employ approximately 600 people in the region.

Domtar treasures the wonderful relationship that weve developed with the students and faculty of Riverview Elementary throughout the years, and we are especially honored to be able to make a difference in childrens lives, said Domtar Corporate Responsibility Manager, Heather Alverson Stowe. Literacy is one of Domtars core corporate giving pillars, which is why its so important for us to foster a love of reading and to help put books in the hands of children in our local communities.

Domtars book donation was made possible through the companys partnership with First Book, a nonprofit social enterprise that provides books to children in need. As part of its Powerful Pages campaign, Domtar has partnered with First Book since 2012 to provide more than half a million dollars in grants to schools and programs in towns that are home to Domtar facilities. Domtars grants provide funding to educators to purchase books through the First Book Marketplace, a website available exclusively to First Book programs.
