DMI COLLABORATES WITH WING TO PROVIDE MOBILE PAYMENTS IN CAMBODIA
App Marks DMI’s Foray into the Cambodian Mobile Payment Market
As mobility continues to transform economies, businesses and lives, companies around the world are finding new ways to serve their customers. Today DMI announced a collaboration with service provider Wing to provide mobile payments in Cambodia. The app enables Wing customers, both individuals and businesses, to transfer, deposit and withdraw money from anywhere in Cambodia via any mobile phone at a low cost. The Wing app is available to download for iOS and Android.
Mobile payments are having a transformative impact in certain parts of the world. The worldwide mobile payment revenue in 2015 was 450 billion U.S. dollars and is expected to surpass 1 trillion U.S. dollars in 2019. In the developed world it is designed to make consumers’ shopping easier and allows cost savings for merchants, while mobile payment innovation in some Asian and African countries has largely been driven by services. These regions have taken the leap directly to mobile services in absence of the widespread availability of bank accounts, creating a positive impact on the local economies. For example, in Cambodia where the population is 15.5 million people, only 1.5 million are in possession of bank cards.
The app allows users to manage their Wing accounts via their mobile devices, promoting good money management as well as greater brand interaction and loyalty.
- Easy functionality: Users can now pay their bills, top up their phone airtime, send money to other Wing users, donate money to a variety of charities, find the closest Wing Cash Xpress outlet and more, directly from within the app.
- Developing exceptional experiences: DMI used its end-to-end mobility expertise to build native solutions for both Android and iOS, resulting in a quicker account setup experience and easier mobile payments. The company works with organizations to redefine the customer experience, then develop solutions that treat every interaction as an opportunity to serve, build loyalty and create experiences worth talking about.
JojoMalolos, Wing CEO, said: “Wing continues to provide new and innovative solutions to the market. With the app, users can access Wing services on-the-go when they use their smart phones. What’s more, it is available in both English and Khmer, making it very easy to use for our customers.”
Daniel Karlstrom, COO – DMI International, said: “Following the launches of hundreds of mobile solutions all over the world, DMI is very proud to deliver a project in Cambodia for Wing. DMI is one of the leading technology companies in Cambodia and our collaboration has resulted in a world-class solution that is tailored for the Cambodian market and developed in-country by our Khmer team.”
