Cobalt Broadband Services S.A. de C.V. today announced the appointment of Dra. Jane Alexandra Garcia to serve as GigNet Hospitality Ambassador for its fiber-optic broadband network. Garcia is well known in the Mexican Caribbean region, having served more than 24 years in the public and private sectors of the hotel hospitality and vacation ownership industry.
Most recently, Dra. Garcia served as General Director of Tourism-Government Administration in Cancun, Quintana Roo, MX., from 2016 to 2018, where she participated in global tourism and vacation planning with countries from around the world. Her responsibilities included assisting with international trade shows as well as helping local governments plan and coordinate tourism activities and cultural exchange programs.
Cobalt Broadband Services is a telecommunications provider licensed in Mexico that is building a 180-kilometer fiber-optic broadband network it has branded GigNet, targeting the hospitality industry, enterprises and mobile carriers. GigNet enables an expanding digital experience to the Mexican Caribbean. GigNet invests its own capital to bring 1 gig of bandwidth to each hotel property, including fiber-to-the-room and a seamless roaming Wi-Fi solution, in exchange for a small per-room per-day charge.
