    Quick Summary

Clearhaus celebrates 10 years as an active acquirer and takes the next step toward Unified Commerce.

Clearhaus celebrates 10 years as an active acquirer and takes the next step toward Unified Commerce.

Clearhaus, one of Denmark’s leading acquirers of online payments, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Since onboarding its first customer in 2015, the company has experienced significant growth and now serves more than 33,000 webshops across Europe.

Certified by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority, Visa, and Mastercard, the company has built a strong and scalable payment infrastructure that meets today’s demands for security, efficiency, and flexibility.

“Clearhaus was founded with the ambition to change how online payments work. We challenged the long onboarding processes, unclear terms, poor user interfaces, and lack of technical support businesses had to deal with. Since 2015, we’ve grown rapidly, with a strong focus on fast onboarding, robust APIs, and an intuitive dashboard. Soon, we’ll also be able to support payment acquiring from physical stores,” says Francois Vachon, Managing Director of Clearhaus.

A strategic step toward unified commerce

In 2025, Clearhaus will expand its business to include acquiring payments from physical stores (POS - Point of Sale). This positions the company as a key player in the shift toward Unified Commerce, an integrated ecosystem that brings together online, offline, and mobile payment channels in one unified solution.

“We’re seeing growing demand in the market for consolidated payment solutions. By offering both e-commerce and POS from a single platform, we can initially provide businesses with better data insights, higher conversion rates, and more efficient operations,” says Francois Vachon, and continues:

“Being able to act as an acquirer for in-store payments is a natural next step in bringing Unified Commerce to Denmark. Unified Commerce is not a trend – it’s the future. That’s why we are making strategic investments to support Danish and European businesses through this transformation. We’ll start by offering POS acquiring to our parent company, Unzer Group, and then extend the service to other partners.”

    European reach through Unzer Group

Since 2021, Clearhaus has been part of the Unzer Group, a leading European payment solutions provider. The partnership has strengthened Clearhaus’ access to technology, capital, and international expertise.

“With the Unzer Group’s engine behind us, we can deliver even more value to our customers and partners through a comprehensive portfolio of payment and software solutions that meet the highest international standards,” he says.

Clearhaus also plans to expand its acquiring license and expects to be certified to support American Express payments by 2026.
