Created by CBeebies presenter, Alex Winters, Gung-Ho! is a 5K challenge with a difference. The course involves a series of ten inflatable obstacles including the biggest moon walk and some huge slides – the biggest called ‘Thriller’ – for participants to tackle. Gung-Ho! launched this year and having proved incredibly popular, will return to the racecourse in 2016.

    Flexible Challenges

Gung-Ho! an event with a difference, is a first time visitor to Royal Windsor Racecourse. The event needed space in abundance and access to electricity. The flexibility offered by Royal Windsor Racecourse’s setting perfectly accommodated their needs.

The varying needs of Gung-Ho! were ably met by the wide range of facilities at Royal Windsor Racecourse. The setting and area were ideal for the 5K course, giving plenty of space to the ten obstacles to be set out in the optimum layout. There was ample room for the 4,000 participants to enjoy the event and the after-festival, which included music from some top DJs, entertainment and delicious food and drink. The Racecourse offered plenty of space and electricity for the ‘arena’ area.

    Post Event Analysis

Gung-Ho! booked Royal Windsor Racecourse for the 2016 southern event straight after this year’s success, having been highly impressed with the venue and events team.

Alex Winters, Creator and Organiser of Gung-Ho!, commented:

“The event held at Royal Windsor Racecourse was our most enjoyable of the year. The preparation and set up was smooth, the venue was perfect and the feedback from both the public and our own representatives has been better than we could have imagined.  We decided within minutes of seeing the racecourse that it was the venue we wanted. What really made a difference and one of the main reasons we are returning is because of the absolute professional communication and assistance from Ola and the Royal Windsor event team.  They were amazing and couldn’t be more helpful.  We are really looking forward to returning in 2016.”
