AST (Canada) CEO Margot Jordan Participates in Covenant House Sleep Out to Raise over $1 Million for Homeless Kids

AST Trust Company (Canada) is proud to announce that its President and CEO, Margot Jordan, will be among an expected 80 of Torontos business and community leaders as they sleep out on the night of November 15 to help homeless youth.

The 7th annual Covenant House Sleep Out: Executive Edition will see participants spend the night outside with a sleeping bag and piece of cardboard to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the agency.

This years goal is to raise $1.25 million in one night. Last year, participants spent a cold night out to raise a total of $1.1 million, bringing the total to date to more than $6 million for all Sleep Out events.

What well experience on the night of the Sleep Out is a daily reality for too many youths in our city. What these children need is not only a warm place to sleep, but also warm support from the community, said Jordan. Im delighted to support Covenant Houses good work. Id encourage others to show their support by getting involved with the event and contributing what they can.

Bruce Rivers, Covenant House Toronto Executive Director, says that as many as 300 young people depend on the agencys support every day.

We are most grateful to the business community for such generous support of this life-changing experience, Rivers says. Our goal is to help shine a light on the plight of homeless youth and raise funds to help us give our kids the support they need to build better futures.

Covenant House Toronto is Canadas largest agency serving at-risk, homeless and trafficked youth, offering a wide range of services and support. To do all this, the agency relies on donors for more than 80 percent of its $30.6 million annual operating budget. Since opening its doors in 1982, Covenant House has served almost 95,000 young people.
