Adaptive appoints banking and legal expertise to its board

Adaptive, a software consultancy specialising in real-time trading systems, has selected senior investment banking and legal non-exec directors to sit on its board. Matteo Cassina, Yann L’Huillier and JanhaviDadarkar will provide Adaptive with expert guidance on their wide-ranging speciality fields, including sales, marketing, technology and corporate governance.

Matteo Cassina has been involved in the financial industry for over two decades. After working at a number of big banks including BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, he served as President of Citadel Securities Europe and member of the global executive committee of Saxo Bank. Matteo has also been on the board of Nasdaq Europe and Boerse Berlin. Commenting on his appointment, Matteo said: “It is fantastic to be part of such an innovative company at the heart of the fintech revolution. As Adaptive continues to expand, I will be looking to provide key strategic advice on how to structure the key business lines.”

Joining Matteo on the board is the Group CIO of interdealer broker Tradition – Yann L’Huillier. Yann’s extensive technology expertise will support Adaptive’s internal strategy to commoditise and licence its technology to clients.

He will also be assisting in helping sharpen Adaptive’s technology architecture and the go to market strategy. Yann commented: “To play a role in helping grow such a forward-thinking business is an exciting opportunity. The importance of understanding how technology should be used, sold and deployed will be an important aspect of Adaptive’s growth strategy.”

Completing the team is JanhaviDadarkar – who will Chair the board. Janhavi brings a wealth of experience in governance, strategy and risk mitigation. A former corporate media city lawyer and current programme lead at the Institute of Directors (IOD), she complements the team with a deep strategic insight and knowledge of governance for high growth and international markets. She added: “It’s great to be joining Adaptive at this stage as the founding team have already built a dynamic company with a strong proposition. I welcome the opportunity to now build on this by ensuring the board is prepared from a governance and risk perspective.”

The appointment of the new board team follows the transition of Adaptive’s four managing directors to new c-level executive roles – Matt Barrett (CEO), John Marks (CCO), LoicRozé (COO) and Oliver Deheurles (CTO).

CEO of Adaptive, Matt Barrett, concluded: “We’re delighted to have assembled a group with such an in-depth level of expertise directly relevant to our business objectives. Collaborating with senior practitioners with a proven track-record provides us with the necessary framework to help the company grow.”
