Rheinmetall is negotiating with a Romanian state firm for a munitions joint venture, as confirmed by Romania's President.
BUCHAREST (Reuters) -German arms maker Rheinmetall is in talks with a Romanian state company over a possible joint venture for an ammunition factory, Romania's President Nicusor Dan said on Friday.
"At this moment there are advanced negotiations between Rheinmetall and the Medias factory for a joint venture on munitions," he said in a news conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz after the two met in Berlin.
"We hope these negotiations will end in the shortest time possible," he added, without giving further details.
