Venable Attorney-Featured Band Noise in the Basement Again Wins Law Rocks Dc; Third Win in a Row Brings Three-Year Fundraising Total to Over $60k

Noise in the Basement, a local alt-rock band featuring Venable attorneys Andrew Price, Damon Wright, Bri Rizzo, and Steve Freeland, won the annual Law Rocks DC battle of the bands fundraiser for a third year in a row. The group raised over $20,000 in donations, ticket sales, and sponsorships, of which over $8,000 will be donated to Venable’s pro bono client, Together We Bake.

Venable has raised over $25,000 for Together We Bake in the last three years of this event, with total fundraising over $60,000, a portion of which supports Law Rocks and its nonprofit efforts.

Performing at the legendary 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, the band’s set list included alt-rock covers Lose Yourself, Paint it Black, Burning Down The House, Song 2, Just Like Heaven, Float On, Mr. Brightside, and Vertigo.

In 2016, the band’s performance was recognized by Law Rocks as the #1 moment of the tour. In addition, during Law Rocks LA in 2017, the band played at the world-famous Whisky a Go Go and was the top fundraiser among all bands, in raising donations for Together We Bake.

Law Rocks hosts a series of battle of the band fundraising concerts in cities across the globe, starring local legal professionals. Their mission is to promote music education for underprivileged youth and raise funds for local nonprofit organizations by combining the power of music and the generosity of the global legal community.
