President Zelenskiy visits Kherson, a frontline city under Russian attack, to commemorate an anniversary and plan defense strategies.
KYIV (Reuters) -Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy visited the frontline city of Kherson on Tuesday, which is only a few kilometres from Russian positions across the Dnipro river, and faces constant bombardment and attacks by drones.
Zelenskiy posted a photograph of himself at the entrance to the city, with a large ornamental sign bearing Kherson's name behind him.
He also posted a video of himself giving a speech to commemorate the third anniversary of Russia's withdrawal from Kherson in 2022, the year of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
"We are preparing decisions which should strengthen Kherson," he said in the speech.
Zelenskiy said he would hold a meeting on Tuesday with local officials and military representatives about defending the city, which is struggling with the ever-increasing threat of small Russian attack drones.
