By Stanislao Marrazzo, Co-Founder, Italian Food Online Store.

In the past few years after founding the Italian Food Online Store, we’ve seen unsedimented yet steady growth in our business. However, this year we were met with many unforeseen changes such as economic changes and mostly the health protocol changes due to the spread of Coronavirus. In hindsight, it’s so obvious that the changes we’ve made as businessmen could have been asserted earlier or even thought about earlier had we not been blind to a changing world.

Businesses have seen its ups and downs, and the only way to cope up with these changes is to embrace the lovely hand of digital marketing trends and reinvent ourselves.

Some ways to reinvent the digital marketing strategy in lieu of the situation at hand now:

    • Rethink & Reinvent What You Are Offering (Golden Circle)

Your business might be focused on one or more services or products. However, if anything at all, this period has shown that more than services or products, it’s important to keep reinventing ourselves and rethink what we are offering. Monitoring what the brand is communicating at all times is essential at all times in order to adapt to the changing circumstances in the current situation. It is primal that businesses take this time to introspect the values it promotes, and just as the golden circle rule dictates, focus on the ‘why’s’ and everything else will fall into place. Every task that is achieved will succeed with a domino effect.

    • Support an Altruistic Cause

Understandably, business is quite slow at the moment, and there is no better time to re-strategize the business’s digital marketing ways. One of the primary elements to focus on is taking the time to be aware of the situation at large, see how they can translate new values inculcated through this period and extend an arm to support an altruistic cause. This drives new initiations in a business and also sparks new and meaningful conversations. Having conversations about the health protocols for businesses and supporting causes are important. Finding a cause that aligns with the company’s values is of primary importance today. Giving back to the community that gave us so much is necessary.

    • Solve Existing Issues

Sometimes, it’s more important to stop creating new processes for the smooth working of the company but to finetune the existing processes. It’s important to get an eagle’s eye view of the processes running, refrain from focusing on statistics, sales, or returns, and instead focus on solving the issues that the current processes are facing. This reinvention can help customers understand the businesses better and show how their favorite company faces challenges. This also brings about transparency and adds authenticity to the brand’s name.

    • Go Digital

Now more than ever, all businesses new and old, who believe in their business value and concept, should take the time to focus on reinventing themselves digitally. If you are a new business, go digital. With the constant change in the social media and google algorithms, set apart a team of experts fully capable of researching and understanding these changes and trends. After which evolving the brand’s social media game according to the new strategy in place can ensure that the brand’s narrative changes according to these algorithms, and it doesn’t affect the rate of the followers, readers, or sales they gain unless it is positive. You can take the time to vet various digital marketing firms fully capable of handling this task & coming up with a suitable strategy, having understood the company narrative, lingo, and standing on various relevant matters.

    • Podcast Marketing

Podcast Marketing is a huge digital marketing trend. Podcasting has just begun to gain massive traction and is fairly still a new space to explore your branding voice. Podcasting is an engaging way to retain an audience. Using podcasts can ensure that you have in tow a panel of experts willing to share industry-specific knowledge, that can be of interest to your consumers. This will make sure to give your company a hedge over the other competitors and give the company the credibility required to deem your business as a legitimate subject matter expert focused brand. Taking the route of podcasting can also bridge the wedge created between your competitors by inviting them as guest speakers. Doing so makes your competitors your collaborators – again the way to deal with business competition, and have an interesting discussion.

These are some of the ways that you can reinvent your business’s digital marketing strategy during these times, and prepare for a better tomorrow.
