MOSCOW, April 12 (Reuters) - The Russian defence ministry said on Sunday that Ukrainian troops are violating the Easter truce while Russian forces are observing the declared ceasefire.
Civilians, including a child, were injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s Kursk region, the Ministry was quoted as saying by Russian news agencies.
Reuters could not independently verify reports of military activity.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on April 9 that he had announced nL1N40S124 a 32-hour ceasefire over a period of Orthodox Easter, which falls on April 12 this year.
The ceasefire would be in effect from 4 p.m. on Saturday (1300 GMT) to midnight (2100 GMT) on Sunday evening, the Kremlin said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who had previously made repeated proposals for a ceasefire that were turned down by Moscow, said that Ukraine would act in accordance with the Easter truce.
Hours into the truce put in place on Saturday, Russia and Ukraine accused each other nL1N40U064 of violating the agreement.
