Rising Star in Private Wealth: The Journey of Marc Zaro

From the bustling streets of Chicago to the serene landscapes of Colorado, Marc Zaro’s journey is a testament to his unwavering dedication and diverse interests. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, Marc’s early life was marked by a passion for sports and leadership. He attended The Latin School of Chicago and later graduated from Mt. Carmel High School, where he led the Varsity Soccer team, demonstrating early on his knack for leadership and teamwork.

Marc’s academic pursuits took him westward to the University of Colorado Boulder, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Geology. His time at CU Boulder was not just about academics; it was a period of holistic development. Marc was actively involved in the Colorado University Ski Club, the Colorado University Real Estate Club, and the Colorado University Investment Club. These affiliations reflect his diverse interests and his ability to balance academics with extracurricular activities effectively.

Currently, Marc Zaro is furthering his education at the University of Chicago’s Certified Private Wealth Advisory program. His commitment to continuous learning is evident, as he strives to stay at the forefront of wealth management and advisory services. His interests extend beyond academics and business; he is passionate about philanthropy, rock climbing, skiing, soccer, fly fishing, and 4×4 off-roading, showcasing his adventurous spirit and a well-rounded personality.

In 2019, Marc Zaro founded GM Capital Private Wealth, where he serves as President. GM Capital Private Wealth caters to a distinguished clientele, including corporate executives, qualified purchasers, institutional investors, and board members of multi-billion-dollar public entities. Marc’s expertise in both private and public equity markets allows him to represent a diverse range of clients, both domestically and internationally. His leadership at GM Capital is characterized by a client-centric approach, aiming to provide trustworthy expertise and tailored portfolio recommendations.

Before founding GM Capital, Marc gained valuable experience at Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc., where he joined as an Investment Advisor Representative in November 2017. Prior to his tenure at Merrill Lynch, he was a Registered Representative of AXA Advisors in Manhattan, New York. His primary focus at AXA was to implement and oversee 144 Restricted Stock and the Financial Wellness Program for group retirement plan clients. This comprehensive program was designed to help plan participants identify and prioritize their financial objectives and develop actionable strategies. It encouraged ongoing engagement between advisors and participants, fostering a long-term advisory relationship that spanned their careers and into retirement.

Marc’s mission is to be with his clients throughout their financial journey, helping them achieve generational wealth creation and tax-optimized legacy transference. His proficiency spans a wide range of financial strategies and services, including Private Equity Related Strategies for individuals and business owners, 10b5-1 Financial Trading Programs for executives, Tax-Sheltered Fiduciary Consulting, and the management of various stock options and retirement plans. His expertise extends to execution trading, hedge fund manager monitoring, securities-based lending, tax-loss harvesting, tax-deferral tactics, and concentrated equity monetization.

In addition to his internal capabilities, Marc leverages external partnerships with renowned institutions such as Blackstone, Eaton Vance, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Van Eck, Blackrock, and Gotham Asset Management. These partnerships allow him to seek premier Private Equity deal flow, ensuring that his clients have access to the best investment opportunities available.

Marc’s approach to wealth management is holistic and client-focused. He designs and implements 401(K) Plans and Cash Balance Pension strategies for executives, ensuring that they can maximize their income from external sources while optimizing their primary employment compensation. His strategic thinking and comprehensive knowledge of the financial landscape make him a valuable advisor to his clients, helping them navigate complex financial scenarios with confidence.

In conclusion, Marc Zaro’s journey from a high school soccer team leader to the President of GM Capital Private Wealth is a story of dedication, continuous learning, and a commitment to excellence. His diverse interests and holistic approach to wealth management make him a standout figure in the industry. As he continues to grow and evolve in his career, Marc remains focused on his mission of helping clients achieve their financial goals and secure their financial legacy. His story serves as an inspiration to aspiring wealth advisors and a testament to the power of perseverance and passion.
