21 May 2025, UTRECHT, The Netherlands – Quantoz Payments B.V. (Quantoz), the Netherlands headquartered payments technology company, is pleased to announce that Arjen Van Klaarbergen has joined the fintech as General Counsel. Mr Van Klaarbergen is a qualified lawyer with almost 20 years of experience in the financial services and digital asset industries.

Before joining Quantoz, Mr Van Klaarbergen was at Binance where he was their Head of Legal overseeing the team in the EU and the UK. His time at Binance saw him tackle some of the toughest issues in the world of digital assets, blockchain and Web 3.

In November 2024 Quantoz launched euro and US dollar-referenced MiCAR compliant stablecoins – EURQ and USDQ – to facilitate transfers and payments in secondary markets as well as transfers across crypto exchanges. Arjen’s appointment bolsters Quantoz’ capability in this regulation-sensitive environment.

Arnoud Star Busmann, CEO of Quantoz Payments, said:

“It is great to have someone of Arjen’s calibre and experience join Quantoz as our General Counsel. Having worked at the world’s largest digital asset exchange, he has been at the forefront of the ever-changing legal and regulatory landscape. This will put us in a very strong position to grow and expand our markets as we continue to see our regulatory compliant stablecoins become widely adopted. Arjen’s decision to come and join our team is further testimony to the market leadership position that Quantoz is carving out.”

Prior to Binance Mr Van Klaarbergen worked at banking platform IBANXS and for one of the Netherlands’ top law firms, Nauta Dutilh, where he advised extensively on financial regulatory and corporate governance matters. He has in-depth knowledge and experience of anti-money laundering, anti-corruption and fraud. Mr Van Klaarbergen is highly skilled at creating and expanding relationships with internal and external stakeholders including regulators and is a respected thought leader in the financial regulatory arena.

Arjen Van Klaarbergen, General Counsel of Quantoz Payments, said:

“I am very excited to join Quantoz at such a pivotal time for the digital asset industry and more specifically for stablecoins. The speed with which they are growing in conjunction with the broader stablecoin market is impressive and I look forward to guiding them through the fast-changing regulatory regime in the years ahead.”
