Add as preferred source on Google(Reuters) – British insurer Prudential Plc said on Friday shareholders approved the demerger of its U.S. business Jackson Financial, which is expected to be completed on Sept. 13, after it postponed the spin-off earlier this year.
After the demerger, which was announced last year following pressure from activist investor Third Point, Jackson’s class A common stock will begin regular-way trading on the New York Stock Exchange from Sept. 20, Prudential said.
