United States/WA: LED Lighting Horticulture Market Will Boom In Near Future

    Report Pages:[130 Pages]

The Competitive Area of the LED Lighting Horticulture Market is Defined by Key Players Like:–Fluence Bioengineering, Cree, Illumitex, Kessil Lighting, Heliospectra, Hubbell Lighting, LumiGrow, Lemnis Oreon, Osram Sylvania and Smart Grow Technologies.

LED lighting systems have several unique advantages over existing horticultural lighting, including the ability to control spectral composition, the ability to produce very high light levels with low radiant heat output when cooled properly, and the ability to maintain useful light output for years without replacement. Three major light source technologies have been used in the horticultural lighting system: incandescence (incandescent lamp), an electrical discharge (fluorescent, HID), and solid-state light sources (LED, OLED). The first and two are known as “legacy” technologies, and the third is considered as modern technologies. Here are the differences between LED grow lights and other plant lights. The aim of this study is to explore the potential of light-emitting diode (LED) technology for horticultural plant lighting and to provide an overview of the LED light effects on the growth, yield, and nutritional quality of green leafy vegetables, fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants. The spectral effects of LEDs, as a sole source of lighting, disclose the main functions of light colors on plant growth, development, and metabolism as well as the heterogeneous sensitivity of different plant species and varieties.

LED lights are 90% more energy-efficient than incandescent light bulbs and better for plant growth than high-pressure sodium lights (HPS) — the lighting method commonly used for indoor horticulture. HPS lights are affordable, easy to find, and give off an intense light ideal for growing large plants. But HPS lights also burn very hot, and the heat makes it challenging to maintain a proper grow room temperature. LED lights run much cooler, last longer, and are easier to work within small spaces.
