SIX Payment Services, a leading European provider of services along the entire value chain of cashless payments, has secured an agreement to provide payment services for Mazovian Railways (MR). According to the agreement SIX will offer cashless transactions processing in MR cash registers. Enabling card payments for MR ticket purchases significantly shortens waiting lines at ticket counters and meets passengers’ expectations for fast, secure and reliable payment facilities.

As part of cooperation with MR, SIX Payment Services will enable card transactions processing using POS terminals which will be integrated with the sales system. Payments exceeding 50 PLN require pin/signature authorisation. For tickets up to 50 PLN passengers can pay contactlessly. Moreover, Ma-zovian Railways’ passengers buying tickets from ticket machines can also make payments using a card. MR supports Visa, MasterCard and Maestro cards.

Thanks to the integration of stationary terminals with rPOS cash registers, a cashier can automatically transfer the required sum from the sales system to a terminal, which allows the customer to make an instant payment for the ticket – contactlessly or with pin authorisation. Additionally, the integration eliminates cashiers’ mistakes as the sales process is automated. The cashier just needs to press the ’card payment’ button.

Mazovian Railways has always strived to raise the quality of services it offers. The installation of POS terminals is the next step to make the purchase of tickets even more convenient. „POS terminals, in-stalled by SIX Payment Services, are very popular with our passengers” – says Dariusz Grajda, Mazovian Railways sales director.

’We are glad that SIX Payment Services solutions have contributed to a more efficient customer’s service system at Mazovian Railways’ ticket counters” – said Artur Żymańczyk, Country Manager SIX Payment Services in Poland. „The implementation of the integrated payment solution at MR is an example of the strategy of SIX Payment Services: through a wide portfolio of services SIX Payment Services aims to allow merchants to strengthen relationships with their customers’.

Today, SIX integrated payment solutions are present in almost 100 Mazovian Railways ticket counters.
