Ryanair lost landing slots at Eindhoven Airport due to late arrivals from Sofia and Pisa. ACNL issued this rare penalty for next summer's schedule.
AMSTERDAM (Reuters) -Irish low-cost airline Ryanair has lost two of its landing slots at Eindhoven Airport after its flights repeatedly arrived late, Airport Coordination Netherlands (ACNL), the body that assigns airport slots, said on Tuesday.
Dutch newspaper Eindhovens Dagblad initially reported the decision.
ACNL found Ryanair had been consistently late on Monday evening flights from Sofia, Bulgaria, and Thursday evening flights from Pisa, Italy.
As a result, ACNL removed the airline from the two slots for next summer's schedule, a penalty it rarely issues.
Ryanair did not immediately reply to requests for comment.

A landing slot is a designated time period allocated to an airline for landing at an airport. It helps manage air traffic and ensures efficient use of airport resources.
A flight delay occurs when an aircraft departs or arrives later than its scheduled time. Delays can be caused by various factors, including weather, technical issues, or air traffic control.
Eindhoven Airport is an international airport located in the Netherlands. It serves as a hub for low-cost airlines and provides connections to various destinations across Europe.
