April 9 (Reuters) - Israel said on Thursday it had killed the nephew of Naim Qassem, the leader of the Iran-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah, in a strike on Beirut overnight.
"The IDF struck in the Beirut area and eliminated Ali Yusuf Harshi, the personal secretary and nephew of Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem," the military said.

Naim Qassem was the leader of Hezbollah, an Iran-backed Lebanese group, and a senior figure in the organization for over 30 years.
Israel reported killing Naim Qassem in an airstrike on Beirut, Lebanon.
His death, if confirmed, represents a major blow to Hezbollah's leadership and Iran's influence in the region.
Hezbollah attacked Israel after the reported killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei at the start of the recent conflict.
