YouTube videos have made many common people celebrities. It is estimated that the millennials watch about 1.5 billion videos only on YouTube every day. On mobile devices, on an average, a viewer watches videos for close to an hour daily. With such number of people willing to watch online videos, there is a great opportunity for you to get more views for your videos on YouTube. There are many ways to get more people to watch it. Listed below are a few of them.

Provide appropriate names for your video: The name of your video should contain the specific keywords that you want people to search with. It would be best if you also had all the keywords in the video that can help the user to find it. To be ranked higher in search results and to be found, it is essential that you research for the keywords that are searched most in the genre that you are about to create a video in.

Most people make the mistake of developing the content of the video and even start to post without researching the title. That can be a costly mistake as it can affect the number of views. The title should be short, appealing and engaging. It should not give too much away and yet interest the audience to click on your video. Ideally, this should be in the form of a question which can be answered by the video. This is one way to touch the inquisitiveness of the reader and make them watch the video.

Video description: It is an important step that most people often ignore but should be taken very seriously to increase the viewership. Ensure that you add a proper description which gives an accurate picture of the video. The space that is given should be optimized, by writing a precise and exciting description of what is on the video. It is also an opportunity to add keywords that rates high in search results and gives a chance of users finding your video.

The tags sections should also be appropriately used to pique the interest of the viewers. Try to add as many relevant tags as you can so that your video gets popped up when searched for the keywords in the tags.

Post and share immediately: Ensure that you share the video as soon as you post it because if you wait, the chance of getting views reduces drastically and will very soon be forgotten. Research as to when the user is going to watch the video and release it as timing is essential. The best time to publish and share a video is evenings or in the weekends. Once you share the video, encourage the viewers to subscribe so that they are alerted whenever you post a new video.

The best way to make the viewer subscribe is to request them to subscribe by adding a call to action. You can also post your videos on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter but make sure to link your accounts to YouTube. Take the help of your friends to like, share or comment on the post.

Few other things to do to increase views are, use blogs or websites to promote your videos. If you don’t have one, ask if your friends can help.
