Pre-Conference Workshops at Next Bank Europe

Next Bank Europe, the conference for fintech innovators taking place in Barcelona 18 and 19 September 2014, will be organizing two pre-conference workshops on 17 September: Hacking Finance Tech @ is a technical workshop aimed at developers & designers and Hacking Finance Biz @ is a business workshop for fintech innovators in general.

Hacking Finance Tech Hackathon Details

Hacking Finance Tech @ is a fintech hackathon where programmers, designers and business people will be brought together to brainstorm and create software for fields such as retail banking, capital markets, payments and big data and will have access to the Open Bank Project API, as well other APIs, to bring their solutions to life. At the end of the day the participants will demo their game-changing hacks to a panel of fintech entrepreneurs and innovators who will select the technical solution with the most impact on the industry. The best hack will be invited to present at Next Bank Europe. Hacking Finance Tech @ is co-organized by the Open Bank Project and Next Bank Europe, with the support of Barcelona Activa.

Industry Insights on Open Banking APIs

Simon Redfern, CEO at the Open Bank Project says “Banks know that by opening up their APIs they are gaining access to innovation and to new revenue opportunities via a rich and broad range of value-added products and apps. We’re excited to see the sorts of inventive and original solutions that the workshop will produce in the context of an international audience like Next Bank Europe.”

Hacking Finance Biz Innovation Workshop

Hacking Finance Biz @ is a business innovation workshop for the creation of new value propositions which are able to transform the world of finance. The workshop gathers fintech entrepreneurs and innovators from financial institutions to examine how networked business models, where value is delivered by consumers to consumers and companies become enablers of this value exchange, have the potential to hugely impact the industry. The most impactful business solution created at the workshop will be chosen to present at Next Bank Europe. Hacking Finance Biz @ is co-organized by Claro Partners and Next Bank Europe, with the support of BeeOne.

Aldo de Jong, Co-Founder at Claro Partners, comments “There are virtually no products or services in the financial services industry that will not be affected by networked business models and the sharing economy. The Hacking Finance Biz @ workshop will explore the co-creation of inventive P2P or crowdsourced solutions with the help of the unique, diverse audience of Next Bank Europe.”
