GN Store Nord agreed on March 16, 2026, to sell its GN Hearing business to Italy’s Amplifon for DKK 17 billion (~$2.6 billion) on a cash- and debt-free basis, marking a major move in the global hearing care industry.
MILAN, March 16 (Reuters) - Italian hearing aid group Amplifon will buy Denmark's GN Store Nord's hearing business for 2.3 billion euros ($2.6 billion) on a debt-free basis, the two companies said on Monday.
Amplifon said the acquisition of the Danish company's unit combines two complementary business models and is expected to drive expansion in the United States.
Amplifon's shares were down around 6% and shares in GN, which makes hearing aids, speakerphones and headsets, were up 35% at 0830 GMT.
Amplifon operates through a network of over 10,000 locations in 25 countries.
Under the agreement, GN will receive 1.69 billion euros in cash and 56 million Amplifon shares, equivalent to about 16% of the enlarged group, which will have combined revenues of around 3.3 billion euros.
The deal is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
