Global Labor Market Conference Sets Gulf State Issues in Global Context

Set to take place on December 13th and 14th in Riyadh, Saudia Arabia, the Global Labor Market Conference (GLMC) is a first-of-its-kind international platform for worldwide labor market leaders. Though it will be hosted in Saudi Arabia, its scope is truly global, inviting all kinds of market professionals to discuss themes as varied as the impact of AI and the upskilling of new youth cohorts entering the workforce.

A statement from the GLMC reads, “The GLMC is unique in that it will assemble a truly comprehensive global cross-section of all labor market stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, representatives of multinational organizations, labor leaders, academics, artificial intelligence experts, business leaders, and more.”

Such a diverse gathering is new and timely. The collection of exigent complications facing the global labor market has created an intense economic moment, the gravity of which should not be overlooked. The advent of new technologies has occurred alongside rapid changes in workforce demographics, as well as international tensions and increasingly influential climate regulations. The organizers of the GLMC, however, are optimistic that such a unique, large-scale, and comprehensive gathering of leaders and experts will yield new conversations and change.

The GLMC has been organized to maximize this transformative potential. Expected to have more than two thousand participants, the GLMC has scheduled upwards of 120 speakers to conduct more than 40 constructive and collaborative sessions across two days. The speakers include not only industry experts but also world leaders, listing names such as ILO Secretary General Gilbert Houngbo, NEOM CEO Nadhmi Al-Nasr, former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Greek Minister of Labor Adonis Georgiadis, and Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqil Al-Khateeb.

With solutions at the center of the GLMC’s focus, conference themes include subjects such as “The Future-Proofed Organization” and “Labor Market Re-Engineered.” The GLMC intends to be a platform to create connections and stimulate discussions that lead to solutions. With such a vast array of specialists, experts, and leaders in attendance, the discussions and connections at this conference may be the first step in collaborations that define the future labor market.

Very soon, the King Abdul Aziz International Conference Center in Riyadh will be opening its doors to some of the most influential experts in the global labor market, hosting an event with historic potential. Local Gulf state labor market issues will be put in the context of truly global trends, and experts and leaders from a worldwide stage will be invited to discuss their own expertise, complexities, and problems in the hope that solutions can rise out of this extraordinarily broad collaboration.

The GLMC is still open to new registrations from those connected to the industry who wish to attend. The event will soon be in the past, but its outcomes will be long-lasting as industry connections are made, and new, collaborative strategies are discussed and widely shared. A conference such as this, rising out of the necessity of a historic moment, is the kind of event where worldwide industries are built and defined.
